“Attraverso / Through” is a multimedia artwork-performance in which sound and image converge to form abstract spaces and landscapes, inviting participants to experience an imagined auditory and visual journey in silence.
Produced in 2022 by the Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne, the work blends immersive soundscapes and evocative image sequences to create a contemplative environment that unfolds as a “sound walk” — a poetic traversal of sensory space where motion design and sound design intertwine.
Performed by musician Francesco Pellegrino, the piece uses rhythmic and spatialised audio alongside carefully composed visuals to guide the audience through evolving atmospheres and visual terrain. The result is an experience that transcends conventional narrative, inviting reflection and presence through the interplay of image, sound and perception.
Attraverso / Through exemplifies how multimedia art can shape experiential landscapes, positioning motion and sound as equal partners in the creation of immersive, contemplative performance.
